Beliefs
We believe that God the Father is our Creator and that He loves his creation and longs for all his children to come to salvation through Jesus Christ his son.
We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became fully human and lived a perfect life so that he could take the sins of the world upon himself and to suffer and die with them, on the third day after his death he rose from the grave. He did this in order to secure the forgiveness of sins for those who believe in him so that we might have victory over sin, death, and the power of the devil.
We believe in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works faith as a gift in the hearts of people through God’s Word and Sacraments.
Our Teachings
The teaching of Martin Luther and the church that bears his name can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Scripture Alone.
Grace Alone (Sola Gratia)
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save sinners.
Faith Alone (Sola Fide)
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura)
The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word and the only source of divinely revealed knowledge. The Bible reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
