Pastor Bill came to Mt. Olive in August of 2011 along with his wife of 26 years Vivien, and their son Alexander. He is a “Second Career” pastor and a graduate of Concordia Seminary’s DELTO program. Before entering into full-time ministry, Pastor Bill was a “Special Event” planner and operated businesses with his wife in San Diego, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. He first became a licensed Deacon, and later served his vicarage with the Region 3 Mission Council of the Pacific Southwest District, Serving under Rev. Vogelsang of Community Lutheran Church in Escondido. In addition to his duties at Community, he helped establish a mission congregation in Alpine; Lift High the Cross Lutheran Church. After serving in San Bernardino County, Pastor Bill and his family are happy to be back in Ramona, as they have been residents of that town since 1995 and still own property there. Being one if many victims of the wildfires in 2007, Pastor Bill and the Baker family remember how Pastor Ken and the congregation of Mt. Olive played a big role in the recovery efforts. It’s a blessing to be able to serve God here and now at this congregation. Now in his 6th year, he looks forward to being a part of the future of Mount Olive.
